Applying for a family or a group

One authorization per traveller, one form session, one payment, and how children and group files work.

You can apply for several people at once, including children and babies. The rules are simple once you know them.

One authorization per traveller

Every person who travels needs their own authorization, whatever their age. A family of four means four applications, each with its own passport, its own photo and its own answers.

There is no family rate and no reduced price for children. Each traveller is charged the same as an adult, because each application is a separate filing with the US authorities.

One session, one payment

You fill in everyone in a single session and pay once, under one email address. That email belongs to whoever is organising the trip, and it is where every message about the group goes.

Everyone gets their own file number

Each traveller receives their own file number beginning with VP. In your tracking area you see all of them in one place, each with its own status, because the US authorities may answer at different times for different people.

It is normal for one member of a group to be approved before the others. It does not mean anything is wrong with the remaining files.

Documents are per person

Each traveller needs their own passport photo and their own recent photograph, children included. When something is missing, your tracking area names exactly which document is missing for which traveller.

A group file cannot be submitted while any traveller is still missing a document, so a single missing photo holds up everyone.

Children and babies

A child needs their own passport and their own authorization. For the photo, the same rules apply as for adults: plain light background, face visible, eyes open, no filter. The parent details asked in the form are the child's parents, not the person paying.

Adding someone after payment

If you forget a traveller, do not restart the whole group. Contact us with your file number and we will tell you the quickest way to add them.
